Plans and Tiers

How pricing works and what each tier gets you, with a live comparison table.

Your card is safe

Payments are handled end-to-end by Stripe, the same payment provider used by Amazon, Shopify, and Google. Card numbers go straight to Stripe's secure checkout; Vilvik never sees, touches, or stores your card details.

You can pay for Vilvik in two ways, and you can mix them on one account.

  • Subscription. A flat monthly price for a tier. You get a generous bundle of submissions per day and bigger limits on every run. Cancel any time; access continues to the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Credits (pay as you go). Every run you pay for with credits gets Premium limits and is charged by the compute it actually used. API and SDK submissions are always paid this way. On the website you choose it per run. See Credits for how the balance works.

You never have to pay to keep using Vilvik. Without a subscription your account stays on the Free plan, described below.

After the Trial Ends

When the trial ends and you have not subscribed, your account moves to Free. Nothing is locked away:

  • Your past submissions, results, shared links and saved problems stay where they are.
  • You can keep submitting every day within the Free limits in the table below.
  • Most Quick apps stay open: linear single and multi objective, knapsack, bin packing, clustering, timetabling, travelling salesman, SVM, KNN and logistic regression. The Problem Builder and custom submissions stay open too.
  • Every demo stays free.
  • When a run needs more than Free allows, you can pay for that one run with credits instead of subscribing (see the next section).

A few things need a subscription, an active trial or granted premium access: the Random Forest and XGBoost tuners, the Keras and PyTorch neural network apps, and the LEGA assistant.

Paying for a Single Run with Credits

If a submission goes over a Free limit (too many generations, genes or runs today, for example), the error window offers Run with credits. Pick it and the same submission runs with Premium limits, then the compute it used is taken from your credit balance. On the Problem Builder, tick Run with credits before you press Run.

  • The run is charged after it finishes, at the same rates as API runs. See Credits.
  • Your free credit (for example the signup credit) is used first, then paid credit.
  • The option only appears on plans below Premium. A subscription already gives you these limits.
  • Paying with credits does not unlock the Premium-only apps or LEGA.

LEGA Assistant Access

LEGA prepares new custom and Quick submissions for Premium subscribers, active trials, and users granted premium access. A credit balance alone does not grant access, and LEGA does not currently deduct credits. Free users see an upgrade modal when opening the agent. Saved conversations remain readable after access expires. See Prepare a New Submission with LEGA.

Limits at a Glance

The numbers below come straight from the database and update as soon as an admin adjusts a tier on Vilvik. Every account on a tier starts here; specific accounts can be raised on request.

— means the limit falls back to the platform default.

A dash in a cell means the platform default applies (so the cap is whatever the platform default is, not no cap). The website limits at the top of the table apply to every tier. The API per-minute rate limit is platform-wide and not in this table; see Rate Limits and Quotas.

How Your Plan Is Decided

When you run something, Vilvik looks up which limits to apply in this order:

graph TB Start([New run starts]) subgraph Decisions ["Decisions, in order"] Override{"Custom limits
set for your account?"} Sub{"Active subscription?"} Credits{"Run paid with credits?
API, SDK, or chosen on the website"} Trial{"Still in the free trial?"} end subgraph Outcomes ["Which limits apply"] A["Your custom limits"] B["Your subscription plan"] E["Premium limits
for this run"] C["Trial limits
same as Premium"] D["Free limits"] end Start --> Override Override -- "yes" --> A Override -- "no" --> Sub Sub -- "yes" --> B Sub -- "no" --> Credits Credits -- "yes" --> E Credits -- "no" --> Trial Trial -- "yes" --> C Trial -- "no" --> D

The badge in the top right shows which one you are on right now. If support has raised your limits, that override always wins, even if you also have a subscription.

The Free Trial

When you create an account, your first 15 days are on the trial. During the trial you get the same limits as Premium and every Premium app. When the trial ends, your account moves to Free unless you subscribe (see After the Trial Ends).

You can see the trial end date and your current tier on your account profile. The plan badge in the top right shows the same information at a glance.

Upgrading and Downgrading

Open the subscription page to subscribe or change plans. Payments go through Stripe; we never see your card number.

Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current period. The remainder of the period you already paid for is honored.

Cancelling

Open the subscription history page or use the Stripe portal to cancel. Your premium access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, the account moves to Free.

Asking for a Higher Limit

If a workload doesn't fit a tier's defaults, email support with what you are trying to run. We routinely raise per-account caps when there is a real need. Most of the limits in the table are starting defaults rather than hard ceilings.

Student Program

If you are a student, you can apply for two free months of Premium. See Student Program.
